Delia Turner wins Vet Sabre World Championship in Croatia

2011 Veterans Fencing World Championships Delia Turner claimed gold by defeating teammate Ellen O’Leary 10-9 in the finals of the Vet 60 Women’s Sabre World Championships today in Porec, Croatia.  Both fencers came out of the preliminary rounds and the 1st and 2nd seeds and marched through the elimination tables to meet in the finals. Turner brings the US their first gold medal of the 2011 Veteran World Championships.  She had won the 2011 US National Championship in the V60 category in July. Final Results: Vet 60 Women’s Sabre
